Welcome to my portfolio

I am currently studying in my second year of Sound Technology & Digital Music (BSc Hons) at Oxford Brookes University. I do freelance web development, graphic design and photography. My other interests include film-making, open source software and Buddhism.
I'm posting content in chronological order. I'm up to 2011 so far and there's still so much to add!
I'm developing an HTML5 audio player module for Pluck that I will use to showcase some of the music that I've created.
I'm also working on a new design for this site so that I can ditch the Pluck default theme.

How to USB tether an Android phone with a Mac OS X computer

I occasionally make posts on the Kitson Consulting site. Click here to read the whole article.
The process of tethering allows you to connect your computer to the internet via your phone's 3G mobile connection. This is a life saver if you are working in a location where you don't have access to other internet connections. Broadly speaking, there are two methods of tethering: plugging the phone directly into your computer via USB, or setting up the phone as a mini Wi-Fi hotspot. I prefer to plug in directly because Wi-Fi uses up battery power on the phone (and the laptop if unplugged) very quickly. Unfortunately, I have an Android phone and a Mac computer. The official Android website says that you can use a USB cable for tethering with computers running Windows or Linux but not with Mac OS X. Nevertheless I have found a way to do it with OS X, read on for more information.

Louisa wanted a website to promote her bands and songwriting work. After discussing the look that she was going for we decided on this design. This minimalist look uses CSS3 to add the glowing effects to the headings and uses few images which makes for a sleek, fast-loading design. For the page header I finally had a chance to use a font called Raleway from The League of Moveable Type.
I teamed up with Kitson Consulting for hosting and development on this one. They built on the Audio for Everybody project to produce a reliable cross-platform audio player that integrates nicely with the site.
Art Foundation FMP Film - "Donoghue"
28/02/2012 at 19:49 in FilmsThis was my final major project on my art foundation course at Weston College. I wrote, directed, filmed and edited it over 8 weeks. It draws a lot of inspiration from Rian Johnson's 'Brick'.
